Semi Marathon - Carcassonne

There's only one place to watch a semi-marathon and that is from your balcony with a G&T in your hand....'cheers' Lads and Lasses or perhaps 'Salut', Mesdames et Messieurs!
I know how they must be feeling, having completed a half marathon in 1981 - the first 'Great North Run'.....in 1hr 57 minutes!!..would take me a 'tad' longer now I suspect!!

Hey!! That's cheating!! Didn't you know that the 'Tour de France' has been and gone!!

Not a Micky or Minnie Mouse in sight - not even an Ostrich or a Cow or a Smurf!! Only one lone runner with a pair of 'Red Wobbly Bobbles'.......on his HEAD...thank you!! I bet he's English!!

Walkabout on a sunny day.

St Vincent's Carcassonne.

Nice Balcony...I like a nice balcony! Perhaps I was Juliet in a fictional past life!
Thinking about trying to paint this little scene...but only thinking! They would certainly not get lost in the dark!!
A Bride on the Green.... or even a Bird(ie) on the green!! Hopefully she is not under par!

Sunset in Carcassonne

Sunset at La Cité.

Visit to the British Museum

This is such a pretty pub just around the corner to the British Museum. I only took its photo - I didn't go in - promise...hic!!
I love this picture......the Museum has been returned after a thorough cleaning!:-))
I just love the light and space. It is very restful - even with the crowds!!

Small Chinese landscaped gardens outside the British Musuem.

Wonderful contrast. Redwood and black bamboo.

Knit & Stitch Show Alexandra Palace London

This must be the most wonderful venue for the Knit & Stitch show and of course the weather was fabulous too. Check out the remaining two shows: www.twistedthread.com

The sky was that colour - honest!

Beautiful views from Alexandra Palace on a sunny day.

Raymond Honeyman's exhibition at Alexandra Palace.

Framed work of Raymond's. Each design is then produced by Ehrman Tapestry's into kits. To see more of his and other designers work click here. His artwork is extraordinary and complex. Raymond is one of a rare breed - a designer that produces work by hand and not by computer!

A beautiful hand embroidered Kimono. An example of Japanese embroidery. It is stunning!!

A colourful installation at Alexandra Palace. A project by a Los Angeles based Institute - a creative response to the plight of coral reefs to pollution and global warming. Get your crochet hooks out!!

Oh, you have!!

John Allen's beautiful tapestries: 'Forbidden Kingdom'.'
An interactive installation- 'Seeking Pearl' - by Alfreda McHale. You take a jar/jars from the shelf and empty the buttons into the bowl on the table in front of the installation and then make up your own combination of buttons into the empty jars and place them back on the shelf:-). Nice one!!

The Wedding.

Congratulations Carol & Alan on your recent wedding- after all a 16 yr engagement is not that long!!

Happy couple with Bride's Father in background- complete with Kilt and Bagpipes-cool!
Young Photographer!
