Well, that's it folks for a wee while so au revoir, à bientôt, jusqu'a Je reviendrai à Buenos Aires.☺
Another great night in Place Carnot - the square in Carcassonne. It threatened rain but it soon blew over and we were there until midnight listening and dancing to some amazing music....and all for free! Rock on boys!
The first act had to finish early because of a light drizzle but then came into the cafe area under the parasols where we were sitting and played impromptu guitar jazz...magic!!
What a great way to end my stay in France...wonder what is on the agenda for my return???

The Morning after the Night before!
After spending a wonderful, entertaining evening and morning - 3pm! - with friends at Labastide, we set off after breakfast en route to Carcassonne to visit a nearby lake at Pradelle and to view the surrounding rugged countryside. The wonderful weather is having a good effect on the many vineyards we saw as we passed by. Hoping to taste some (degustation) on my return. Leaving for England tomorrow and then off to Buenos Aires to dance Tango on Friday for two weeks. Watch this space!

Morning bike ride along the Canal Midi
Montolieu -the book village
Le Tournesol
We went in search of Sunflowers - Le Tournesol (they turn to the sun) - yesterday, only a few kilometres from Carcassonne. Towards a town called Castelnaudary, we came across one field after another! What a sight to behold...no wonder Van Gogh got excited! I had to do a bit of gymnastics on the car bonnet to get some higher shots and Mike captured the moment...thank you! The car will never be the same again...nor I!! As you can see, some of the sunflowers are taller than me!! And No, I am not vertically challenged...a little over average height actually! However, I did find some smaller ones:-)!
Enjoy! We did!
Great balance Mitch!
Festival de la Bastide et de la Cité
Carcassonne in the month of July is a very exciting place to be if you like different genres of music. From the 5th to the 30th July The Festival de la Bastide and La Cité run side by side....similar idea to the Edinburgh Festival and the Fringe. The events in the Bastide programme are all free at various venues around Carcassonne...all within walking distance from each other. The events at La Cité are held in the Theatre Jean-Deschamps within the city walls and you have to buy your tickets well in advance as they sell out very quickly.
These are a few of the Artistes that have played over the last few weeks and some that we have seen.
