Carneval de Limoux

We enjoyed a lovely day at Limoux last Sunday. It was the finale of the Carneval which starts in January. Every weekend there is a procession of masked figures in different colours. Dancing and throwing confetti with the oompa band playing behind. Great fun!

Even the little ones dress up..this weeks theme was the red & black Pierrots

No idea what he is called but he's a big lad!!

He was burnt later that evening! Similar to our Guy Fawkes.

Pretty in pink.

Mmmm...classy!

Congregating in the hall before the procession.

Little poser! :-))

Very classy!! Not!

Little cutey! Definitely got the aah factor.

Bags of confetti...looks heavy. Soon to be thrown at the crowds and stuffed down collars and fronts!! I know...I am still finding it a week later!

A well earned rest...they haven't begun yet!

She should go to the Venezia carnivale with her costume :-).

The beginning of the parade.

More confetti!!

Waltzing in the streets at the beginning of the parade.

Beautiful ruffs.

An even smaller cutie :-)

Yes, you have a good right to look startled...wait till you look in the mirror!

That was me a few seconds before this unsuspecting lady got a face full of confetti...what larks!

No-one escapes...not even Tigger!

The Oompa band..they only had one tune - but it was a vey nice one!

A pink Pierrot.

A mini Pirate!

There he is again...yes it was a little boy...obviously likes pink!

A mini cowboy - scary!

Well and truly confettied!

French Tigger.

Monkeying around!
